Information on breastfeeding

After the birth, our breastfeeding counsellors and nursing staff are always available to provide you with individual support. They will share valuable information about breastfeeding and answer your questions. From latch-on and breastfeeding positions to the treatment of milk stasis and breast inflammation, you will receive comprehensive tips and tricks from us. If you decide not to breastfeed your baby or this is not possible, we will be there to support you.

Maternity (puerperium)

Immediately after the birth, you can hold your child in your arms. The baby is placed naked on the mother's chest. This allows your child to recognise your heartbeat and your voice. This promotes bonding, which is the bond between the newborn and the parents. This intensive contact with the child provides a sense of security and promotes the basic trust between child and parents. Enjoy being together in the labour ward and then in the postnatal ward. Rooming-in is a matter of course - the baby is with you day and night so that you can get to know each other in peace and quiet. If you need support or have any questions, competent nurses are there for you. They will help you to recognise and respond to your child's needs and sensitivities. They will guide you through breastfeeding and give you and your carer tips on how to care for and feed your child. And if you would like to relax in between, we will be happy to take the baby off your hands for a while.
