Comprehensive and empathetic support before the birth
If you do not have a gynaecologist, you can also have your pregnancy checks carried out at the outpatient clinic of the Women's Clinic or at the Women's Permanence Zurich at Zollikerberg Hospital (Zurich Stadelhofen).
Breastfeeding counselling
Our experienced breastfeeding counsellors are there for you before and after the birth. We offer individual consultations and counselling sessions to provide you with holistic and sensitive support when breastfeeding your child.

Pregnancy checks
You can have your pregnancy checks, ultrasound examinations and also invasive prenatal diagnostic examinations (chorionic villus sampling and amniocentesis) carried out at our clinic. We will examine the development of your child and provide you with comprehensive advice regarding your pregnancy. If you wish, the medical check-ups can alternate with the midwife check-ups. The costs for pregnancy checks by a midwife as part of the statutory examinations are covered by health insurance. If complications arise during pregnancy, we can also provide you with inpatient care.
If your child has not yet adjusted itself to a head-down position by the end of the 37th week of pregnancy, it is possible under certain conditions to turn your child externally.

Experienced midwives from the Zollikerberg Hospital Women's Clinic are there for you if you need advice and support, and will do everything they can to make your time before, during and after the birth easier. Pregnancy checks can also be carried out during the midwife's consultation hours. You too can take advantage of the midwife's consultation to support you through your pregnancy and the time afterwards.

Tour of the building department
Would you like to have your baby at Zollikerberg Hospital? Our midwife, Kim Heiniger, will take you on a tour of the Zollikerberg Hospital's labour ward. She will explain step by step what happens in the hospital during a birth.
Acupuncture as natural support
Acupuncture to prepare for labour
Acupuncture, a branch of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), complements the check-ups with your doctor or midwife as well as birth preparation. It can help with pregnancy and postnatal complaints. In addition, acupuncture sessions in the last weeks of pregnancy can have a positive influence on the birth process and shorten the duration of labour.
In collaboration with traditional Chinese medicine practitioners, our midwives will treat you with acupuncture before the birth. From the 36th week of pregnancy until your due date, you will be treated once a week for around 20 minutes in a resting position. You can choose between needle or laser acupuncture. Women who are scheduled to have a caesarean section for delivery are excluded from participation.
