The number of outpatient procedures has increased in recent years. This presents us with organisational challenges. As the hospital stay of patients undergoing an outpatient procedure is significantly shorter, the preparation time is also much shorter. Everything surrounding the procedure must be timed even more precisely and optimally coordinated. With the consistent separation of outpatient and inpatient processes from admission to discharge, the adjustment of operation planning and the subdivision of operation capacities into outpatient and inpatient, it has been possible to streamline processes at Zollikerberg Hospital while maintaining the same quality of treatment. Core teams were also formed in the outpatient area that are specifically responsible for these procedures.
